3-Day Women's Birdwatching, Ayurveda & Yoga Program in Kochi for Stress Recovery

Duration: 3 Days
Location: Kochi, Kerala, India
Program Type: Residential Program
Format: English, Malayalam
Program Overview

A 3-day women-only riverside reset with birdwatching, gentle yoga, personalised Ayurveda and protected rest.

Sometimes a short break needs to do more than simply change where you sleep.

This three-day, two-night women-only program in Thattekkad creates a structured pause from work, caregiving, screens and everyday responsibility through birdwatching, personalised Ayurveda, gentle yoga and deliberately protected rest.

The experience begins with an Ayurvedic consultation so body care can be selected according to individual comfort and wellbeing needs. Gentle yoga and breathing create an accessible way to reconnect with the body, while an early nature and birdwatching experience shifts attention away from everyday demands and toward the surrounding landscape.

This location is particularly suited to this combination. The retreat sits close to Bird Sanctuary, and the property itself has river and forest views along with a dedicated birdwatching bamboo cottage.

The remaining time stays intentionally light, with nourishing vegetarian meals, riverside quiet, rest and space to simply receive rather than organise.

Highlights

Signature Experiences

Distinctive moments that give this journey its character and depth.

01
Signature Experience

Women's Personal Wellbeing & Ayurveda Consultation

The experience begins with a private Ayurvedic consultation exploring current routines, energy, sleep, movement, stress load and comfort with bodywork. The Ayurveda team then selects appropriate care rather than prescribing the same session for every participant.

02
Signature Experience

Early-Morning Birdwatching & Nature Attention

A slow birdwatching experience around Thattekkad surrounding habitat gives participants a reason to place their attention somewhere completely different from work and everyday responsibility. This is not designed as a demanding wildlife expedition. The emphasis is observation, curiosity and time outdoors.

03
Signature Experience

Gentle Women-Centred Yoga & Breath

Accessible yoga, comfortable mobility and breathing are adapted to the group's current energy and movement capacity. The practice can be adjusted by Munkudil's yoga instructor according to participant comfort and experience.

04
Signature Experience

Personalised Ayurvedic Body Care

Bodywork is selected after consultation and may draw from existing Ayurveda capabilities, including practices such as Abhyangam with herbal steam, Shiro Abhyangam, Shirodhara and other practitioner-selected sessions.

05
Signature Experience

Protected Riverside Rest & Take-Home Reset

The retreat deliberately protects time during which participants do not have to learn, achieve or socialise. The final morning closes with a simple personal recovery rhythm based on movement, breathing, quiet time and regular breaks that can realistically continue at home.

About

About Munkudil Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat

Where the river breathes, the forest listens, and Ayurveda heals. Tucked away inside a living bird sanctuary in Thattekkad, Kerala, Munkudil Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat is where wellness stops being a routine and becomes a rhythm — the rhythm of flowing water, rustling bamboo, and birdsong at dawn. Every room opens onto a panoramic view of the Periyar River, with wild elephants occasionally wandering into sight from your own balcony. Here, centuries-old Ayurvedic and Naturopathic wisdom is guided by expert doctors and woven into your days through personalised therapies, yoga, and meditation — while the forest does the rest. An infinity pool that melts into the horizon, river-facing yoga shalas, treehouse and bamboo-cottage stays, and a zen garden complete a sanctuary built for one purpose: to help you return to yourself.
